Graduation Tournament
CHIMERA: You Are the Body Now · Week 50 · PHASE 10 FINALE · 50-WEEK GRADUATION
Name:
Date:
Before EVERY move: LOOK → THINK → CHECK → MOVE → RESET
Coach Lamont says: "You started at the cell. The cell became a square, then a file, then a rank. The pieces became scaffolding, skeleton, nerves, wild-cards, and consciousness. The body became firmware. The firmware became pattern. The pattern became YOU. Today the student doesn't study CHIMERA anymore. Today the student IS CHIMERA. This is the final body scan. Walk in. Play 5 rounds. Come out as a graduate."
Part 1: The Graduation Body
BODY DOCTRINE: The body that finishes 50 weeks is no longer a student
- Week 1 — the board was a body you were LEARNING to read.
- Week 50 — the board IS your body. You don't translate anymore. You just MOVE.
- The graduation test: 5 rounds of Swiss chess. 5 sessions. Your firmware, your scaffolding, your nerves, your consciousness — all tested under live pressure.
- Win, lose, or draw doesn't matter as much as whether the BODY HELD. Did every move run LOOK-THINK-CHECK-MOVE-RESET? That's the real exam.
Part 2: The Graduation Format
5-Round Swiss — The Capstone Body Test
The body: Five opponents. Five nervous-system tests. Each round a fresh body — the last round's pressure emptied out between rounds.
Where: In-person with your class, school team, or local club — OR online via Lichess arena / chess.com tournament / custom Swiss.
Time control: G/30 + 5 or G/25 + 10 recommended. Long enough for tissue to think. Short enough to finish in one session.
Score: Win = 1 · Draw = ½ · Loss = 0. Max score = 5.0.
Part 3: Two Goals for the Graduating Body
PROCESS BODY vs. OUTCOME BODY
- Outcome body (optional): "Score 3.0 of 5." Depends on opponents. Depends on luck. Partly outside your tissue.
- Process body (REQUIRED): "Run LOOK-THINK-CHECK-MOVE-RESET on every move, all 5 rounds." Entirely YOUR tissue. Fully controllable.
- The graduate's rule: You own your process body. You rent the outcome body. Measure yourself on what you OWN.
Part 4: The Graduate's Post-Tournament Scan
The 48-Hour Review (do within 2 days of finishing)
Score: Write final score (__ / 5.0). Result does not define the body.
Best session: Pick ONE round. What tissue ran perfectly — firmware, skeleton, nerves, consciousness? Name it.
Hardest session: Pick ONE round. Find the critical tissue moment. Name what ruptured.
Process grade: Did EVERY move run the protocol? Grade yourself. Honest.
Next body: What tissue do you commit to strengthening in the next 90 days?
Part 5: Vocabulary — The Graduated Body
- Graduation Body
- The body at the end of the 50-week program — pattern-complete, ritual-ready, self-scanning.
- CHIMERA: The student became the body.
- Process Body
- The behavior-based self — entirely under your control. The body you OWN.
- CHIMERA: The tissue you can command.
- Outcome Body
- The result-based self — depends partly on opponents. The body you RENT.
- CHIMERA: The tissue shaped by the arena.
- Capstone
- The final test that proves mastery. The Graduation Tournament is the BeyondChess capstone.
- CHIMERA: The final body-scan of the curriculum.
- Pattern-Complete
- The body has walked through every phase and every tissue type. Recognition is instinctive, not effortful.
- CHIMERA: The body whose firmware is the body itself.
Part 6: Test Your Understanding
Section A: True or False
1. 5-round Swiss has a maximum score of 5.0 points.
2. Process body is something you rent from your opponents.
3. The graduate's rule: you own process, you rent outcome.
4. Post-tournament scan should happen within 48 hours.
5. The graduation body is one that's pattern-complete.
Section B: Fill in the Blank
6. The 50-week program ends with a capstone called the Tournament.
7. A behavior-based body you fully control is called the body.
8. The body whose firmware has become the body itself is called -complete.
Section C: Multiple Choice
9. Your body loses round 1 badly. What does the graduating body do?
- a) Quit the tournament
- b) Empty the nervous system between rounds, reset the ritual body, refocus on process — not score
- c) Blame the opponent
- d) Start learning a new opening during the break
10. Why is process body required but outcome body optional?
- a) Because outcome is impossible to measure
- b) Because you OWN your process body entirely, and only RENT the outcome body
- c) Because process doesn't matter
- d) Because outcomes are illegal in Swiss
Part 7: Your Graduation Tournament Record
11. Write your process body goal (the tissue behavior you will hold through all 5 rounds):
12. Record your rounds (fill in as you play):
Round 1: Opponent ______________ · Color _____ · Result _____ (W/L/D)
Round 2: Opponent ______________ · Color _____ · Result _____ (W/L/D)
Round 3: Opponent ______________ · Color _____ · Result _____ (W/L/D)
Round 4: Opponent ______________ · Color _____ · Result _____ (W/L/D)
Round 5: Opponent ______________ · Color _____ · Result _____ (W/L/D)
FINAL SCORE: ___ / 5.0
13. Pick your BEST session. Which tissue ran perfectly? (firmware / skeleton / nerves / wild-card / consciousness):
14. Pick your HARDEST session. What ruptured? What will you strengthen next?
CS Bridge: The graduation tournament is the body's production release. 49 weeks of testing, staging, rehearsal — this is prod. The real win isn't launch — it's the post-mortem. Bodies that post-mortem well ship the next release stronger.
Body Check: Phase 10 COMPLETE. 50 weeks COMPLETE. You have walked the full body. Every tissue tested, every phase passed. CHIMERA no longer teaches you — you ARE CHIMERA.

Part 8: Life Reflection — The Graduate's Charge
Coach Lamont says: "The body you trained for 50 weeks is not just for chess. It's for TESTS. For ARGUMENTS. For AUDITIONS. For the hard decisions that come when you're 25, 45, 75. You practiced discipline. You practiced breath. You practiced process over outcome. You practiced scanning yourself honestly and adjusting without shame. That's the CHIMERA body. That's YOU now. The board was just the beginning. Go live in every arena the same way you lived in this one. I'll see you there."
15. Write a letter to the body you were 50 weeks ago. What tissue has grown? What pattern is permanent now? What is the CHIMERA body walking toward next?
